Artist Statement

Living in a rural river canyon lined with firs, pines, maples, alders, oaks and dogwoods and affording an unequaled view of majestic Mt. Shasta is inspirational, with every day and every season producing diverse and changing colors and patterns.

I began painting in the early 70’s while living in Sacramento, California, taking classes from artist Denna Pro. I was involved with Northern California Arts, Inc., for many years before relocating to far Northern California in 1989-90. I have achieved ‘NCA Artist’ standing. My art works have appeared in numerous juried art shows and fairs, and have been purchased by collectors throughout the state.

My wife Marianne is an accomplished artist, art instructor, and jewelry maker, and her boundless curiosity, sense of adventure, and unfailing ability to capture the light keeps me moving forward.
